This position is our equivalent of a camp counselor. Band Managers are the primary adult point person for their group of campers throughout the week. Band Managers mentor campers as they attend workshops, help them compromise on things like band name and logo, lead break time activities, and more. Experience working with youth is a plus but not required!
It is also the job of the Band Manager to make sure their band is where they need to be at all times, whether it’s in practice working on their song, participating in workshops, taking a water/snack break, etc. Managers are responsible for the safety and well-being of their band at all times, unless they have arranged with another adult to take responsibility for the band during a specific activity.
Optimal break times will be discussed at orientation. Managers must always ensure that another adult has accepted responsibility for their band before taking a break for any length of time.
Band Managers must attend the end of day Volunteer Meeting each day of Camp and the Showcase on the final day of the session.
Time commitment: Volunteer orientation prior to your session, Monday 8:30am-5:30pm, Tues-Fri 9:30am-5:30pm, Showcase 11:00am-5:30pm.
This position combines well with Front Desk Wizard, Workshop Leader or Assembly Crew
