The Lead Roadie is in charge of the setup, breakdown, and moving of equipment throughout the week, coordinating the Roadie and Technician crew. Primary responsibilities include coordinating the load-in, setting up the Camp site, overseeing the changeover of classrooms from instrument instruction to band practice every day, and helping with load in/out on Showcase.
The Lead Roadie works closely with the Program Director and Gear Coordinator to help set up for lunchtime bands and confirm gear needs for the Showcase during the Show & Stage Prep Workshop on Friday.
The Lead Roadie runs sound for all assemblies: morning, lunch, workshops, and closing assemblies with the aid of interns.
The Lead Roadie oversees load in and load out for the Showcase, as well as tuning and checking all equipment prior to the show.
This role requires a weeklong commitment. Basic equipment knowledge is needed.
The Lead Roadie job does not have any physical requirements. Moving the actual gear can be delegated to Roadies if necessary.
Time commitment: Volunteer orientation prior to your session, Monday-Friday 12:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m., Showcase Saturday 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
This position combines well with Instrument Instructor, Workshop Leader or roadies for a full day of volunteering.
