We Rock! Camp (for adults 21+)

Wish there was a Girls Rock Camp around when you were a kid? It’s never too late to join! At We Rock! Camp, women, genderfluid/non-binary, and trans folks ages 21+ will learn instruments, form bands, write songs, take creative risks, and support each other. The two day camp includes instrument instruction, workshops, coached band practice, and social events, culminating in the We Rock! Camp Showcase where campers perform original songs with their new bands at Photo City Improv!

As always, no musical experience is necessary. GR!R will provide all instruments and instruction. All you have to do is show up and rock out!

When?: November 11-12, 2017. To make We Rock! Camp more accessible to folks with busy schedules, we’ve squeezed everything in to two days of rock camp awesomeness!

Cost: Early Bird Price: $275 (sign up by Oct 15th,2017)
$300 per person, or bring a friend and pay $400

(All proceeds go towards funding GR!R youth programming)

Where: 2048 Clinton Ave S, Rochester, NY 14618

MISSION:

While you are rockin’ out, you’ll also be sending a young rocker to GR!R to have their own life-changing experience. That’s right, play in a band for a weekend, and your tuition helps provide scholarships and financial aid for youth to attend summer camp!  For more information or to inquire about payment plans, please contact us before registering at kaci@girlsrockrochester.org so that we may consider your request.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

We do not refund or prorate fees. If you need to cancel, please notify the office right away. If you must cancel, up to 3 weeks prior to a camp’s start date, we will attempt to fill your space from the wait list. If the spot is filled, a service fee of $75 will be deducted from the refund amount. In the event of medical emergency, credit for a future session may be available. Please note that absolutely no refunds will be issued after the start of the program.

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION:

For our first session, campers will be selected  by a first-come first served basis. Musicianship or experience with an instrument is not a factor in selection – all levels of music experience welcome! Additional information about the program will be sent with acceptance letters.

INSTRUMENTS:

Campers choose which instrument to learn: guitar, bass guitar, drums, or keyboards. Please indicate first and second choice of instrument on the application. Due to the need to acquire gear in advance, you cannot change your selection after you send in your application, and you cannot change instruments during the program.

Instruments will be provided, but if you have your own guitar or bass, you may bring it. Please note that Girls Rock! Rochester does not accept liability for personal instruments.
